One ingredient you should never forget when shopping for spices is turmeric.
Bright orange-yellow in colour, a light, complementary taste and smell of this popular Indian spice. It gives a nice golden color when added to milk and curry.
Turmeric is good for your health besides adding color and taste to your dishes. It can help improve cardiovascular health, increase digestive health, ease joint pain, increase blood circulation, prevent blood clots, delay the onset of type 2 diabetes, and, to name a few, improve your memory.
1. Turmeric Cures Acne
Its antibacterial nature inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause acne. A study published in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin in 2013 reports that curcumin exhibits antimicrobial activity in turmeric that inhibits acne-causing bacteria from P. acnes .
